The Invisibles - Ocean Skyline

I wish I could say that I just could not recognize parts of my
past and present colloured by these old streetlights
And all these buildings, so far from scratching the skyline, are
keepers of some chapters of a story about you and I

But how could one story begin without a special scenery? Should
we just drive away in search of perfect views?
But these memories keep me tied to the first paragraphs of our
lives.
The ones that talk about the moments stuck forever in these
streets.

Do you wanna hang around with me? All day, just like we've done
a million times before
Do you wanna hang around with me? And curse the fact that we
still hang around, but never leave this place

So many years of shinning smiles and misery, confined in this
town just like written names on wet cement
It's weird to realize somehow I love being here, and that all
these grey corners and sidewalks somehow still belong to me
Could you trade old calendars for a chance to go back and start
a new life in a place nobody knows your name
But this quicksand town of mine seems just too hard to leave
behind
So let's just drive around this graveyard 'cause we just can't
say goodbye

"Have you noticed that these streets seem to be shrinking, inch
by inch?"
"Well isn't that what happens after every rainy day?"

But the day is ocean blue, making it up to me and you
For growing up in a place that doesn't seem to ever let us get
away
Do you wanna hang around with me? 'Cause maybe hang around is
the best thing that we can do now
And if we stop hanging around the day might give up shining
blue
And 'cause if you're here, right by my side, this town does not
seem so bad after all
